"(made with 50% whole clusters and aged for 22 months in French oak barrels, half of them new) Opaque ruby. Assertive black raspberry, cracked pepper, cola and violet aromas show impressive delineation and pick up a touch of smokiness as the wine opens up. Smooth and expansive on the palate, offering sappy dark berry, bitter cherry and floral pastille flavors along with a suggestion of mocha. An impressively long, penetrating finish features an echo of sweet blue fruit and discreet tannins that sneak in late."
