"Saturated deep ruby. Extremely primary, liqueur-like aromas of blackberry, blueberry, violet, espresso and tar; I was alternately reminded of syrah and Saint-Emilion. Bright and tightly wound, with a primary grapey quality . . . . Best now on the very long finish, which features fine, mounting tannins that hit the palate very late."
