"he 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon is in a great place to deliver a tremendous drinking experience. The aromatics are now fully expressive, and yet the wine retains tremendous richness and concentration, with potent, old-school tannins that will absolutely thrill readers who love classically built wines. Sweet tobacco, game, menthol, licorice, mint and dried flowers add stunning layers of aromatic nuance. Even so, the 1996 remains young and virile. With perfect storage it will drink well for another 20-30 years."
