"This Bordeaux blend apparently came top in a Judgment of [British Columbia] comparative tasting. 44% Cabernet Franc, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 4% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot. This wine is released only at four years old. Not too obviously from a hot or a cold part of the Okanagan. Malbec and Merlot grown at the winery and Cabernet Sauvignon further south . . . . it's a friendly style of wine like their Pinot Gris. Nicely melded nose and very sweet and gentle. Good fresh stuff. No rough edges and a little bit of tannin for future ageing."

An aromatic red grape lending perfume, red fruit and a leafy, savory edge. It thrives in the Loire and as a key blending partner in Bordeaux, especially Saint-Emilion.
The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
Yields dark, plush reds with ripe black fruit and soft tannins. A traditional Bordeaux blender, it found its greatest fame in Argentina.
Produces plush, supple, fruit-forward reds with plum and chocolate notes. Softer and earlier-maturing than Cabernet, it adds flesh and roundness to blends and stars in Right Bank Bordeaux.
A deeply colored, tannic Bordeaux blending grape adding color, structure and floral, spicy complexity in small proportions.
