"Red. Dark. Evolved but cohesive. Average intensity. Nose: Average intensity. Fruity. Discreet. Note of moist earth, old wood. Very beautiful on the attack, developing a suave structure with fruity flavors as well as woody and liquorice notes. Very slow, tannic evolution, complex with notes of licorice and violet. A long finish, fine and tannic. Lovely wine."

The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
