"The Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes is much more decadent and showy than the Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fremières. The sweet nose of coffee, caramel, black-cherries, and earth is a turn-on. In the mouth, this full-bodied, voluptuously textured, superbly concentrated wine with no hard edges exhibits lavish quantities of jammy fruit buttressed nicely by new oak, decent acidity, and moderate tannins."
