"Pale, bright yellow. Sexy, wild aromas of lemon, crushed rock, musky grapefruit; at once savory and sweaty in a positive way. Broad and bone-dry, showing lovely density and stony mineral lift to the flavors of lemon pith, jasmine and ginger. A distinct saline quality carries through on the uncompromisingly dry finish. 2014 is clearly an outstanding vintage for this very consistent producer."

2014 in Burgundy is a benchmark white vintage, tense, fresh and mineral, though Cote de Beaune hail cut yields; the reds are balanced and classically proportioned, with good freshness and medium-term aging potential.
The world's most versatile white grape, producing everything from steely Chablis to rich, oaked whites. Its neutrality makes it a mirror of terroir and winemaking, and the foundation of white Burgundy and Champagne.
