"The 2017 Coche is a field blend from old vines featuring Rabigato, Códega do Larinho, Arinto and others. It aged for 12 months in 50% new French barriques and five months in stainless steel. It comes in at 13% alcohol. In bottle for about six months, this is elegant and a little impacted by wood, but that will change. Fresh, long on the finish and very refined, this is another superb Coche. It won't hit you over the head—it is all about grace and finesse. This will hold at least 20 years, probably a lot more. We'll take it in stages. Niepoort likes this even better than his 2016. At the moment, I'd call the 2016 slightly better. We'll see as they age—they are both very young and very terrific . . ."
