"The 1966 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru has always been an ethereal wine, one that I have been lucky enough to drink a couple of times. This is just pure unadulterated Pinot Noir, transparent and delineated with brambly red cherries and desiccated orange peel. It seems to blossom in the glass. The palate is perfectly balanced with filigreed tannins, the acidity binding everything together. Delivering immense tension allied with intensity, this just glides across the senses and leaves you begging for more. Exquisite. Tasted at a private dinner in Beaune."
