"The Domaine Barthod version of les Fuées is even a bit more reserved than the Charmes out of the blocks in 2013, but this will clearly be one of the best wines in the cellar this year. The youthful and very, very promising nose wafts from the glass in a blend of pomegranate, red and black cherries, woodsmoke, gamebirds, nutskin, a superb signature of soil and a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with fine-grained tannins, lovely vibrancy and backend energy and a very long, focused and soil-driven finish."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
Produces the world's most revered Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a mosaic of tiny, terroir-defined climats. Its hierarchy of village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards makes site the ultimate expression of quality.
Produces the most delicate and perfumed reds of the Cote de Nuits, prized for floral elegance and silky texture.
2013 in Burgundy was a difficult, cool and hail-hit year with a late harvest and small crop; the wines are fresh, lean and classically styled, with bright acidity and firm structure, especially the reds.
A thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive red producing perfumed, silky and elegant wines of red-berry fruit and earthy complexity. It reaches its apogee in Burgundy.
