"The inky/ruby/purple-colored 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder exhibits a sumptuous nose of charcoal, burning embers, incense, black currant liqueur, blueberries, and hints of espresso roast and white chocolate. A sensationally concentrated, dense, full-bodied effort with high levels of sweet tannin, decent acidity, and a stunningly layered mouthfeel, this is a profound Cabernet Sauvignon . . . . While this is one of the most stunning wineries in Jess Jackson's portfolio, production is very limited, making the wines difficult to find. Production in 2006 ranged from 158 cases of the Diamond Mountain, to 669 cases of the Mt. Veeder (which happens to be my favorite). Lokoya's wines are made by talented winemaker Christopher Carpenter, who also makes the wines at Cardinale."
