"The 2000 Champoux Vineyard bottling is a lovely wine that is just starting to really come into its own, but I imagine that it was pretty tight and bound up in its structural elements when young. The wine is comprised of fifty-two percent cabernet sauvignon, as well as twenty-eight percent cabernet franc and twenty percent merlot. At age thirteen, the wine is now just moving close to its apogee of maturity, but will cruise along at this lovely level for decades to come and will be even better with a few more yearsâ worth of bottle age. The bouquet is a deep and complex blend of dark berries, cigar ash, dark soil tones, a bit of coffee grounds, incipient notes of chipotle pepper, woodsmoke, fresh herbs and a touch of cedar. On the palate the wine is fullish, complex and beautifully balanced, with a fine core of fruit, still a touch of backend tannins, excellent focus and impressive length and grip on the classy finish. Chris Camarda classified the 2000 vintage as the finest in Washington since his inaugural vintage of 1989, and it is pretty clear to see that his assessment of the vintage was spot on. A very, very classy wine."

The fourth-largest wine producer in the world, led by California. American fine wine is defined by ripe, expressive fruit and a spirit of innovation, with Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon among the most sought-after wines globally.
An aromatic red grape lending perfume, red fruit and a leafy, savory edge. It thrives in the Loire and as a key blending partner in Bordeaux, especially Saint-Emilion.
The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
Produces plush, supple, fruit-forward reds with plum and chocolate notes. Softer and earlier-maturing than Cabernet, it adds flesh and roundness to blends and stars in Right Bank Bordeaux.
