"Rich, deep, dark ruby-violet with a black core. Opens with notes of soot and graphite, then rich elderberry and blueberry, with cardamom in the background. Round and supple on the palate, proceeding with rich notes of blueberry, some cardamom, and cedar wood; on the back palate, lots of rich, dense tannins, and a round and long, juicy finish. "

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
The heartland of Sangiovese, producing Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and the Cabernet-influenced 'Super Tuscans' of the coast. Its wines balance bright acidity, savory structure and cellar-worthiness.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
