"Bright ruby-red. Energetic red and dark berry aromas are complicated by suggestions of Asian spices and succulent herbs, and a smoky mineral element slowly emerges. Palate-staining black raspberry, cherry and violet pastille flavors open up and become deeper with air, picking up a hint of spicecake that builds on the back half. Hangs on with impressive persistence on the finish, where silky tannins add gentle grip."
