"The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet La Maltroie 1er Cru, aged in 30% new oak, has a strict, linear bouquet that translates its terroir with style. It feels a little muted at the moment but it should develop more intensity after bottling. The palate is fresh and saline on the entry. This is a Chassagne-Montrachet with commendable sapidity and impressive persistence, classic in style and one for aging. Superb."
