"Glass-staining ruby. Exotically perfumed scents of dark berry liqueur, potpourri and vanilla reveal woodsmoke and oak spice overtones. Fleshy and expansive in the mouth, offering concentrated blackberry, cherry cola, mocha and spicecake flavors that put on weight with aeration. Rich yet energetic in character, finishing with strong cut, mounting tannins and lingering sweetness."

Renowned for powerful, richly fruited Shiraz, most famously from the Barossa Valley, alongside age-worthy Cabernet and cool-climate whites. A warm climate and old, ungrafted vines produce wines of generosity and depth.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
