"Probably the wine of the vintage from Cairanne, the 2007 Cairanne le Font d'Estevenas is a big blockbuster styled beauty that is overflowing with Provencal notes of garrigue, spice, pan dripping and ripe black currant fruit. Still deep ruby colored, it’s fully mature and drinking beautifully, with full body, a stacked mid-palate, no hard edges and an incredible finish. Made from 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, aged 20 months in concrete, [this is a] stunner . . ."

Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
