"Tempranillo, Graciano, Carignan. On the nose, raspberry, fig, date, blueberry, red currant, and milk chocolate - surprisingly little tertiary in the flavors apart from a touch of coffee. Wiry acidity and a mild-toned tannin that nevertheless builds astringency on the palate. There's a playful, mineral elegance that makes for an ethereal and almost weightless mouthfeel despite clear extracted depth in the background."

Spain has the largest area under vine of any country and a deep tradition of oak-aged reds. Tempranillo-based wines from Rioja and Ribera del Duero, alongside Priorat's Garnacha and Carinena, anchor its fine-wine reputation.
Spain's noble red grape, producing structured, savory wines of red fruit and leather that respond beautifully to oak aging in Rioja and Ribera del Duero.
