"This 2017 Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino has a very young looking, opaque, blue-toned ruby color. The nose is open and appealing with black cherry fruit but also some lighter red fruit notes and what feels like a lighter oak regime which adds some less heavy, attractive spice notes. On the palate there is a note of dark, charred oak and a tar note but this combines attractively with lovely blue-flower, black-purple berried fruit and firm tannins. An ambitious, muscular and powerful style from the hot, dry 2017 vintage but with a very appealing new lightness of touch."

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
The heartland of Sangiovese, producing Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and the Cabernet-influenced 'Super Tuscans' of the coast. Its wines balance bright acidity, savory structure and cellar-worthiness.
A powerful, age-worthy Sangiovese from the warm hills of Montalcino, requiring extended aging and prized for depth and longevity.
Tuscany's signature red, giving high-acid, savory wines of sour cherry, herbs and firm tannin. It is the backbone of Chianti, Brunello and many Super Tuscans.
