"Named after the caviar from Ossetra, the 2018 Ozyetra is a selection of the best barrels of the Forster Pechstein (don't ask me why Attmann started this with the 2017 vintage except for hedonistic and monetary reasons) that ages on the lees for two years. The nose is excitingly clear and flinty as well as intense, deep and precise, with proud greetings to Meursault. Full-bodied, intense and juicy on the palate, this is a highly refined, vital and mineral Pechstein with great purity and notes of Mediterranean herbs on the enormously salty and sustainable finish. This is a spectacular Pechstein undercover and possibly even better than the once legendary 2010 Pechstein GG. Tasted as a barrel sample in May 2020. To be released in late autumn this year. Stephan Attmann has bottled a terrific selection of 2019 Rieslings, and I am sure it is the best series he has ever presented since his beginning here in 2008. Kirchenstück, Pechstein, Jesuitengarten and Ungeheuer are highlights in this lineup but are also some of the finest Rieslings produced in all Germany last year. However, there is one wine outshining all the others: Ozyetra, the very best part of the Pechstein GG. I also like the Deidesheimer Riesling a lot—it offers so much divertimento for a more than reasonable price. My enthusiasm for von Winning is currently fully based on the Rieslings, while the Sauvignons as well as the Pinots did not talk to me yet. Well, there is one exception—the Königsbach Ölberg Pinot Noir. However, I tasted all the reds straight after the bottling, which might be a reason. I am sure Attmann will serve namely the Pinot Noirs again as soon as I have the chance to visit the domain again, most likely in November this year."

The spiritual home of Riesling, producing wines of piercing acidity, precision and longevity across a spectrum from bone-dry to lusciously sweet. Cool, steep-sloped vineyards along the Mosel and Rhine yield some of the world's most delicate, long-lived whites.
A highly aromatic white of piercing acidity and transparency to terroir, ranging from bone-dry to lusciously sweet. It ages remarkably and is the noble grape of Germany and Alsace.
