"Good medium ruby. Musky, reticent nose. Lush and sweet on the palate, with blackberry, blueberry and smoke flavors complicated by rocky and peppery elements. Plush and ripe yet somehow light on its feet . . . . Finishes long, with very smooth tannins and a concentrated black peppery quality that screams out zinfandel. A terrific showing today."
