"Good bright red with an amber rim. Inviting aromas of raspberry, red cherry jam, crushed stone and flinty minerality. Round, sweet, and fine-grained, but showing less of the rich, ripe red and blue fruit today than I remember when it was younger (I last tasted this wine four years ago). Still lively, and boasting the creamy texture and volume of the relatively warmer, outstanding 1982 vintage. Finishes broad and lightly saline, with ripe tannins buffered by harmonious, well-integrated acidity and plenty of mid-palate richness."
