"Beautifully aromatic and complex, the 2009 Denner Syrah The Dirt Worshipper is a blend of 95% Syrah and 5% Viognier that spent 18 months in 65% new French, 10% new Hungarian and 25% neutral barrels. Showing a seamless array of crème de cassis and wild berry styled fruits, peppered meat, game, violet, and smoked leather on the nose, this full-bodied Syrah is rich, concentrated, and powerful on the palate, yet also possesses fantastic freshness, notable purity, and sound underlying tannin structure and length. It needs 2-3 years of bottle age (or a 2 hour decant), and should age gracefully . . ."
