"This comes from two-thirds of a hectare in Vireuils that was planted in 1956, in 60cm of soil which was loaded with small limestone pebbles, overlooking Auxey-Duresses. This is a cool terroir, yet the warmth of 2019 helped produce a generous wine, with ripe pear and floral aromas on the nose, then lively, fresh acidity on the palate, while showing enough extract to carry this to a long, lingering finish."
