"(13.9% alcohol; bottled in December of 2010): Highly aromatic nose combines black cherry, cassis, violet, bitter chocolate and menthol. Dense and concentrated, conveying a small-berry concentration to the cassis and red fruit flavors. Finishes classically dry and a bit saline, but rather approachable for this wine at this early stage. The oak component is already being nicely absorbed. The broad finish features a fine dusting of tannins. Vine stress in 2008 brought more concentration, noted assistant winemaker Crafton. This seems every bit as successful as the 2007."
