"The 2013 Grenache Lumiere Larner Vineyard is fascinating to taste after the Bien Nacido. Here the flavors are quite darker and richer. The tannic structure is also quite present, which gives the wine much of its broad shoulders and overall shape. Hints of smoke, game, tar and licorice wrap around a core of dark blue/purplish fruit, adding to an overall impression of gravitas."
