"The ChĂąteau Suduiraut 2014 may well be one of the best Sauternes of the vintage. This year, it is a blend of 95% SĂ©millon and 5% Sauvignon Blanc with a healthy 145 grams per liter residual sugar and 4.5 grams per liter total acidity. It needed some coaxing on the nose so I afforded the sample five minutes of rigorous swirling. It was worth the effort as it reveals intense clear honey and mineral scents that possess exquisite definition, one of those aromatics that stop you in your tracks. The palate is clean and fresh with vibrant acidity, great depth and power as it fans out in glorious fashion on the bravura finish. The phrase âIt will knock your socks offâ comes to mind, so wear a couple of pairs."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
The world's largest fine-wine region, built around blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Divided by the Gironde estuary into the structured Left Bank and the plush, Merlot-led Right Bank, it is the historic benchmark for age-worthy claret and sweet Sauternes.
Produces the world's most celebrated sweet wines, made from Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc affected by noble rot. Rich, honeyed and remarkably long-lived, they balance sweetness with vibrant acidity.
2014 in Bordeaux was rescued by a superb, sunny Indian summer after a cool, damp start; the result is a classic, fresh and structured vintage with ripe tannins, good value and solid medium-term aging appeal.
Yields crisp, aromatic whites with citrus, herb and grassy notes. It shines in the Loire, Bordeaux blends and around the world for its refreshing zip.
Prized both for age-worthy dry whites and, when affected by noble rot, the great sweet wines of Sauternes. It offers waxy texture and honeyed depth.
