"The 2006 Clos Vougeot was also showing quite well at the time of my visit, and seems poised to offer up a very refined and intensely flavored interpretation of this vineyard in this vintage. The bouquet is deep and very vibrant, as it delivers a blend of black cherries, plums, vinesmoke, lovely soil tones, fresh herbs, incipient notes of game and a bit of bonfire. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, tangy and very precise, with a lovely core of fruit, ripe tannins, excellent acidity and a long, transparent and elegant finish. Fine juice in the making."
