"From vines planted in 1956 and 1965. A subtle but still noticeable application of wood surrounds the elegant mix of white peach, apricot, sea breeze, floral and shellfish scented nose where a hint of phenolic character appears. The dense, serious and powerful middle weight plus flavors are not quite as concentrated as those of the old-vine Vaillons though there is still plenty of underlying material, all wrapped in an equally long finish that is enhanced by the citrus-tinged acidity. This too is very much built-to-age and will require extended patience if you wish to enjoy it at its probably peak."
