"Deep, vivid red. Fresh red/blue fruits, pungent flowers, incense and a hint of smoky minerality on the highly perfumed nose. Pliant, spice-tinged black raspberry, boysenberry, rose pastille and cola flavors slowly deepen as the wine stretches out. The floral note repeats emphatically on a very long, seamless finish that features an exotic spice quality and polished tannins. Planted in 1964 at extremely high altitude (1,600 to 1,725 feet), this site, originally called Hoffman Mountain Ranch, is home to the oldest Pinot Noir vines in the Central Coast, and they are the source for this wine."
