"Tarlant's Extra Brut La Vigne d'Antan is one of the great wines of Champagne. It shows marvelous detail in its sumptuous, yet well-delineated fruit. Minerals, mint and flowers are some of the nuances that develop as the wine sits in the glass. Early signs of development in the bouquet suggest this won't be a terribly long-lived Vigne d'Antan, but somehow I have a sense most bottles won't be around long enough for that to be much of an issue. La Vigne d'Antan is Chardonnay from ungrafted vines. It is a totally compelling, viscerally thrilling wine in every way."
