"The grands crus are magical wines. There can be little doubt that Lalou Bize-Leroy makes the finest wine from Romanée-Saint-Vivant. With its dark ruby/purple color and huge, sweet nose of exotic spices, smoked meats, black-cherries, and cloves, this wine is both provocative and compelling. In the mouth, the wine is rich, long, and full-bodied, with moderate tannins, a sensational mid-palate that is crammed with fruit, and a deep, rich finish . . . .
