"Just bottled, the 2012 Ditch Digger checks in as a blend of 50% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre and the balance Cinsault and Counoise. Fermented with 50% whole clusters and aged 80% in used 500-liter barrels and the balance in concrete, it offers a southern Rhone-like bouquet of kirsch and blackberry fruits, ground herbs, pepper and spiced meats. This flows to a full-bodied, beautifully concentrated and yet fresh and elegant wine that will have upward of a decade of longevity."
