"Even though this beauty is now 20 years into its evolution, it is still a very serious wine that with air displays only moderate secondary fruit development on the gorgeously perfumed, spice and discreetly earthy nose. The robust and full-bodied flavors don't appear to have budged much since my initial review as the supporting tannins are still notably firm on the wonderfully long, palate coating and deep finish. This muscular and overtly robust effort is definitely a big wine and one that should see its 50th birthday in fine form and for my taste, I would advise allowing this at least another 5 to as much as 10 more years of cellar time. However, if you are inclined to try a bottle now, I would suggest giving it 30 to 60 minutes in a decanter first. In sum, this is a beautiful effort that should age gracefully for years. Multiple notes including several recently . . ."
