"Absolutely spectacular, the 2004 L'Aventure Estate Cuvée, a blend of 60% Syrah, 29% Cabernet, and 11% Petit Verdot, exhibits an opaque purple color, as well as riveting aromas of blackberry liqueur, crème de cassis, licorice, spice, and chocolate on the nose. This opens up beautifully in the glass, showing both intensity, as well as freshness and delineation. Full bodied and powerful on the palate, with a seamless, rich texture, superb freshness, awesome purity, and a blockbuster finish, this straight-up stunning wine should continue to evolve over the next 3 to 5 years, at which point it should drink well for a decade more. Awesome!"

The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
A deeply colored, tannic Bordeaux blending grape adding color, structure and floral, spicy complexity in small proportions.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
