"Dark ruby-garnet with a deep core, violet highlights, and delicate lightening at edge. Subtle nuances of licorice, black forest berries, floral notes, a touch of violet; chocolatey richness and noble wood tones. Powerful, spicy, profound extract sweetness, perfect tannins, mineral and persistent; some nougat on the finish, barely detachable from the tongue, fine crème de cassis in the finish as well, very convincing youth and length. Has now reached its very earliest drinking window, but promises much for the future."

Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
