This wine is a complete cellar savior. Guillaume has constructed the perfect, bulletproof white wine quaff for any season, as the blend of 40% Viognier, 30% Grenache Blanc and 30% Roussanne provides a little bit of everything. The Viognier? Florals, honeysuckle, great mid-palate weight. The Roussanne? Minerality, structure, power. The Grenache Blanc? The ease, the glue that fits these two grapes perfectly together and fills in all the cracks. This stuff is majorly gulpable and incredibly friendly towards a number of cuisines…or maybe just your patio and a glass…either way you’re winning.

We’ve told the story of one of our select few ‘house whites’ before, but this brand new 2025 vintage release reminded us just how special this wine is.
Guillaume Gonnet is the name of one of the proprietors of the famous Chateauneuf estate Font de Michelle. We are big fans of this estate based on the historic supple sexiness that the Font de Michelle wines typically have exhibited. They have been at it in the Rhone Valley for some 400 years and settled this particular spot around 1880. Etienne Gonnet created this estate under the Font de Michelle moniker back in 1950, and it is now run by Guillaume and Bertrand Gonnet.
Guillaume’s own label is sourced from 100% estate fruit from vineyards that he and his wife Kelly purchased in 2015. This is not ‘negociant’ wine as Gonnet’s early, still-outstanding releases were, it’s 100% domaine-bottled excellence!
Guillaume Gonnet and his estate vines · Rhône Valley
The brand-new Guillaume Gonnet Cotes du Rhone Blanc Le Reveur 2025 is sourced from cooler north-facing vines (south facing vineyards are used mostly for red wines) that are 45+ years old. The soil here is light clay and sand and the vines are situated on terraces. All the fruit is handpicked and native yeast fermented then the resulting wine is aged six months in stainless steel. Easy peasy…and with OUTSTANDING results.

It is a veritable master class on delivering value and should have the rest of the Rhone Ranger world very concerned when they’re trotting out wines at this level of quality for 3-4 times the price.
