"This is the second time that I have tasted the Charmes-Chambertin 1988 from Denis Bachelet. This is the best bottle I have had. It has a crystalline precision on the nose that takes your breath away – dark cherry fruit, bergamot, black tea – it's a bouquet that just makes you go "wow." The palate is brilliantly balanced with perfect acidity that just chimes. There is nervosité in this wine from beginning to end with laser-like precision on the finish. God invented grapes for wines like this."
