"The 2016 Brut Nature Les Hautes Blanches Vignes (Magnum) is a deep, powerful, vinous wine. Meunier screams with character. Dried pear, spice, menthol, kirsch, Mirabelle plum and hazelnut soar out of the glass. Crystalline and exotically beautiful, with mesmerizing aromatics, the Hautes Blanches Vignes is incredibly distinctive and full of personality. The purity of the flavor is just breathtaking. This is such a gorgeous wine. Wow . . . . Christophe Baron is best known for his groundbreaking Washington wines, but his lineage lies deep in Champagne. Over the last few years Baron and his cousins have embarked on an ambitious project to highlight the essence of Meunier as grown in their family’s vineyards in the Marne Valley. There are now three Champagnes in the range, all bottled only in magnums, with zero dosage. These are towering, viscerally thrilling Champagnes that readers will absolutely want to explore."
